The Countless Stars is inspired by an ancient song from the Balkans. For me, it represents looking at the vast and starry sky in the evening on the coast of Montenegro while my Granny quietly croons it. Arranged in an Horace Silver type of funky style, but with a Balkan flare, it tells the universal cosmological story from the point of view of an Earthling like me. Axis mundi.
